Specialized Massage Treatments

At D’vida, we offer a variety of specialized massage treatments designed to address different health needs and promote overall wellness.
  • Medical Massage: Our therapists are trained in medical massage techniques, focusing on specific medical conditions and working with other healthcare providers. These treatments aim to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and assist in recovery.
  • Sports Massage: Ideal for athletes and active individuals, sports massage targets the muscle groups most used in specific sports. This can aid in performance, recovery, and injury prevention.
  • Prenatal Massage: We provide prenatal massage for expectant mothers, easing discomfort, promoting relaxation, and providing emotional support during pregnancy.
  • Geriatric Massage: Our therapists offer gentle, therapeutic massage to older adults to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and promote overall wellness.
  • Deep Tissue Massage: Designed to reach deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue, this type of massage can help with chronic pain and tension.
  • Swedish Massage: Known for its relaxation benefits, Swedish massage uses lighter strokes to promote blood circulation, reduce stress, and induce relaxation.
  • Trigger Point Therapy: This technique focuses on specific “trigger points” in the muscles that cause pain and discomfort. Applying focused pressure can release these points, reducing pain and improving function.
  • Thai Massage: A unique form of therapeutic touch where practitioners use a combination of passive yoga-like stretching, gentle pressure, and energy work along specific lines to improve mobility, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.

Jenny Cheng, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist, She/Her

Dr. Guifen “Jenny” Cheng’s journey into Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) has its roots in her childhood in China, where she observed her mother, a skilled lay acupuncture practitioner, serving their local community. This early exposure ignited Dr. Cheng’s enduring commitment to holistic healthcare.

Since 2012, Dr. Cheng has been a licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), equipped with expertise in a variety of bodywork techniques. Her qualifications include certifications in Myoskeletal Therapy and Medical Massage. Additionally, she is well-versed in several Chinese massage styles, including Tuina, Gua Sha, and Cupping, alongside practices like Yoga and Qi Gong.

Dr. Cheng’s academic journey led her to the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR, where she earned her Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree (DACM, Oregon license pending). Her practical experience was enriched by an internship at Providence Hospital’s Cancer Center and Fora Health and Rehab Center.

At Providence Hospital, she specialized in providing acupuncture to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. In contrast, her tenure at Fora Health focused on supporting detoxification for residential program patients, helping them manage stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and reduce nausea and vomiting.

Dr. Cheng’s practice is a testament to her belief in integrating diverse modalities to enhance the well-being of her clients, reflecting a deep commitment to the power of holistic healing.

Alissa Cisco, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist, She/Her

Alissa is an intuitive massage therapist who believes that our bodies harbor both physical and emotional trauma. Her massage sessions are customized to each person’s unique needs, often starting with activating the parasympathetic nervous system. This promotes relaxation, reduces stress, alleviates anxiety, and helps the body shift away from the “fight or flight” response, fostering holistic healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

Alissa holds a degree from East West College in Portland. She is passionate about alternative healing methods for preventive care, pain management, and holistic well-being. She employs various techniques, including gentle yet deep myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Outside of her practice, Alissa enjoys time with her husband, cats, and rescue dog Clifford, along with cooking, exploring apothecary and alchemy, paddleboarding, watching hockey, and traveling whenever possible.
