While you don’t need a referral to see a chiropractor, you will typically need a referral for massage therapy if insurance is involved.
A chiropractor can prescribe massage therapy treatments for you. Many clinics such as ours has chiropractic and massage therapy, therefore, you can see the chiropractor and get referred to massage therapy. The benefit of seeing a chiropractor who has massage therapy at the same clinic is that they can work as a team. The chiropractor can let the patient know how many times a week they need to be seen and what areas to work on.
